The exotic voyages of hunting became fashionable in the late 19th century all over Europe. At first hunting was not a hobby for the explorers, they hunted because it was necessary to ensure the main food sources of their caravans.

In the early 20th century especially the rich hunters organized voyages of hunting whose main destinations were northern parts of Africa which could be reached easily. Kálmán Kittenberger, Count Zsigmond Széchenyi and Prince Windischgrätz belonged to the most famous hunters. In 1969 Prince Windischgrätz decided to donate his collection of 300 trophies to the Hungarian nation. These three world-famous hunters bequest is going to be presented at the exhibition opening in June in Vajdahunyad Castle.
