The first large-scale exhibition of the visual artist Imre Bukta (1952) is related to the life of people living in the county in unfavourable often humiliating circumstances. In addition to the most dominant pieces from the oeuvre, the visitors will find a number of works of art that were specifically made for the Hall of Arts.

The Munkácsy Prizeawarded, Imre Bukta is also a Merited Artist. He was member of the Young Artists' Studio in 1975-1990 (from 1987 he presided over it ). With no time to waste, he joined the work at he Vajda Lajos Studio. His first exhibition in Budapest was in 1978, ever since then he has shown on a regular basis. He was invited to the Velence Biennial three times, and among others he was there at the Sao Paulo Biennial, too. His retrospect exhibition was held at MODEM in Debrecen in 2008.
He was acknowledged for his life work with a number of prizes.
