Domokos Kuny ceramist was born in 1754, in Durlach, where his father Dominique Cuny was on the payroll of white -ware (glazed earthenware) manufactury. He connected to our collection by famous white-ware manufactury of Tata. Dominique Cuny worked in Holics, his son and mother moved to Tata in 1772, Domokos Kuny left Tata in 1784, and established an own manufactury in Buda, Krisztinaváros.

Due to conscious collection development the piesces of white-ware manufactury composed the most completed part of former collection of Piarist Museum.
The institute became a public museum, and it was named after Domokos Kuny ceramist master, whose personality could be connected to Tata's manufactury, in 1917 a monography was drafted about his walk of life. (on his cerebration).
The exhibition display the remainded piesces (crocerises) and earthenware. of manufactury in Buda - drawing a kind of paralell between products of both manufacturies.
It's appreciable, that Kuny was inspired by Tata
The piesces origin from musuem of Applied Art and Musum of Kiscell. This exhibition is the first time, when visitors can get a comprehensive image about personality of Kuny, and shows his artistic inspiration.
