The Kass Gallery was opened in Szeged in 1985. János Kass a freeman of Szeged and an artists of the Munkácsy and several other rewards. The building, which is found in Vár Street, is owned by the town, but the gallery is operated by the Móra Ferenc Museum.

The gallery first of all holds a permanent exhibition of the works of János Kiss, but temporal exhibitions are also held in the hall. These are most of the times displaying fine arts collections.
