Photos portraying János Kass are to be showing in the framework of the exhibition at the Kass Art Gallery in Szeged. On occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the first opening of The Kass Gallery, photographs taken since 1985 will be shown, in which the legendary graphic artist, János Kass is portrayed at different opening ceremonies and events.
The graphic artist János Kass was fourteen when he began working with gypsum and later on as a ceramic artist. During the Second World War, taking advantage of his talents, he made seals and documents for those fleeing from the war. He also did countless book illustrations in his unique style on which generations grew up. His life work was acknowledged by the Kossuth Prize, was named Honorary Citizen of Szeged and the local gallery was named after him in 1985. The exhibition aims to pay tribute to the legendary founder of the photo gallery.
