The Lonely Cedar – Csontváry's genius is the title of the oeuvre exhibition now opening on 5 July selecting from works by one of the greatest Hungarian painters Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka, organized by the Várgondnokság Nonprofit Ltd. The special exhibition is located in the Army Headquarters premises, Buda Castle, and is open until 31 December.

"There has to be the ability for man to recognize beauty " - quoted Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka's ideas Csaba Gyutai, executive director of Várgondnokság Ltd, during the press conference announcing the exhibition. As stated, it is one of the most beautiful mission of his life to show and present Csontváry's oeuvre... The location for the exhibition is a building in Buda Castle, the Army Headquarters premises which was designed in the nineteenth century to express the Hungarian nation's greatness. The building sustaining the vicissitudes of World War II was renewed in the summer of 2014 and is ready to welcome visitors - he explained.

Gábor Gulyás, the curator of the exhibition explained that Csontváry's woks are on display in two rooms on two floors, on 1200 m2 of walls. The paintings are accompanied by informational texts, lightplay corridors and feature film spots that reveal the artist's career approached from different aspects. In addition, museum education programs for families and groups as well as professional conference are available, whereas in the future a catalogue will be published. 44

The exhibition is accompanied by another showing entitled 'Today's Cedars,' with artists such as Imre Bukta, Eszter Csurka, László feLugossy, Áron Galambos, Ilona Keserü, Szabolcs Kis Róka and Attila Szűcs.
