The Local Government of Budavár is to organize the 12th „Hungarian language and Hungarian Book Festival". This year the focus is on the literature of WWI.

The National Széchenyi Library has participated in the program for years, This year, the museum presents a rich selection from the Babits workshop also offering guided tours for our visitors.

The poet's anti-war, anti-militarist poems play a significant role (Occasional Verse, Fortissimo, Do not give death like this, not a fight like this, Before Easter, Prologue; Lord's Prayer) and also verse fragments, including the original manuscript fragment "I played with her hand ', about which conservative journalism in between 1915-1916 led a press campaign against the poet, the result of which was that Babits had to give up his teaching career.

In addition to the poems, we hope to give a comprehensive picture of the life of the Babits family, offering a glimpse into the unique - mostly unpublished - photo collection,. They are from the heritage of Sophie Török and Ildikó Babits.

The X-ray-disc collection, which has been preserved by the poet and his wife's voice is also a highlight in our display. Documents about the flats Mihály Babits lived in in Budapest invite the visitors to have a look in the private milieu, and also send a message as former poetic scenes: when guns roar, the muses are still not silent...
