See or ocean – sometimes it really does not matter. Standing on the shore, staring at water sketching up an infinite horizon toll, how shall we know if we have thousands of miles of water in front of us, or just a few hundred? What does it matter to us, small man, if we do not long to travel the distance?
However sometimes a vagrant thought, a barely audible buzzword is enough and our muscles sprain, and we head out for the see, in vain does home want to restrain us.
The call of the see is stronger... The sea is bountiful. He may give everything, but it may also take everything if its whim
wishes so. It bares gallant fleets on its weaves, flies shining sails flew far into the distance, to conquest or in the spirit of love. However, its storms can cause the downfall of the most powerful fleet as well. As if
it had feelings, could be hurt easily.
For us Hungarians, the vastness of the Adriatic is infinity itself. Although deep inside for us the Balaton is 'souls the see',when we taste the salty waves, we may become one and the same with that boundless bulk water.
We live far from the sea, but its treasures lure us back every year to admire in its beauty.
The present exhibition is just a taste of the riches: it presents the typical creatures that live in Adriatic, and all that it once took from us, but could be ours again by expert hands.
The exhibition describes the decaying sea flora and fauna, and on the richness that the Greeks and Romans created
by the Adriatic.
