22 March is the World Water Day. On the occasion, the Rómer Flóris Art and Historic Museum presents an exhibition selecting from works of art that are somewhat related to water by contemporary Hungarian artists. The exhibition is divided into two main themes: water as a symbol and related free associations, and the common use of water is revealed to the public.

We cannot step into the same river twice. The objective of the exhibition is to make the visitors ponder. Water in the 21st century is not only the basis of creation. Although the natural cycle still works, but despite the fact that water is essential to life, we have less and less of fresh water for consumption. The contamination is increasing widely, and it is not certain that it benefits mankind, if we attempt to dominate waters completely. A natural element used wisely and carefully can be for the benefit of everyone, but if it is being treated unfairly, it may overcome and doom destroy all that is in its path. Our ancestors knew it, and paid great homage to the element. Even though water nymphs and Gods were superseded by science, we try to pay our homage to the element of water with our exhibition.

The exhibiting artists are:

Georgina Alexandra, Botond Bíró, Petra Böröcz, Rita Farkas, Erika Fábián, Józsa Frank, Csilla Gintner, Orsolya Hegyi, Mercédesz Molnár, Attila Imre Szabadvári, Richárd Wohlfart
