We show the furnishing of a house of a middle peasant family that lived at the turn of the century. The family of Slovakian origin belonged to the evangelic church. The Slovakian people of the county differed from the Hungarians in their clothing rather than their furniture. The difference was due to the varied embroidery since they ornamented almost all cloths adjusted to the line of sewing.
On the wall of the first room behind the door a hanger was placed for the rope, coat and boots. A cup is in the cavity behind the door. Between the cavity and the window there is a drawer covered with a tablecloths. On the wall behind the drawers there is a picture of Luther that plays music. There is also part of the bench there. Right to the window there is a home blessing on the wall. Plates are placed over the window.
The other part of the bench is along the wall looking to the street. The table with three chairs stands in the triangle designated by the benches. A mirror is hung between the two windows. Plates are underneath. On both sides of the windows there are plates.
The painted bed is along the next wall. The bed is covered with bedding which is covered with a feather-bed and an embroidered sheet. The folded eiderdown is on top. A painted chest is next to the bed with three hard tile over it.
On the hob of the wall-machine there is an iron pan, an iron, pans and little jug on top. On the wall over the machine there is a silverware holder and two little pots.
The porch functioned as a hall. The fronthouse, the kitchen and the chamber open from there. The water bench that held the wooden bucket and the water jug stands behind the door. A line of plates is hung on the wall over the door between the porch and kitchen.
The kitchen is opposite the front door. It has a free chimney and a baking stove in it. The baking trough is next to the left wall. On the bench there is a dough-basket with cloths. There is a miners' lamp over it. On top of the oven, there is a liver baking pot, a cooking pan, a jug and there is also an earthenware pot on three legs.
The back room functions as a chamber of food and store of agricultural equipment. Left to the door, on the side of the oven there are baskets and oil can. Opposite the door there is a cavity with a chest underneath. Over them there is a screen for bread covered with two canvas sacks. The large holder for crop is next to it. Over it there is a painted rack where the boots are hung. On the platform there are the tools of hemp procession. A butcher table stands next to the window with a potato press on and a barrel underneath.
