Hajdu Ráfis János and his wife, Bakos Mária, put down the base of the collection unique in Hungary. The couple from Mezőkövesd offered over fifty machines and five-hundred wrought iron work to Hungary on the condition that they would be the caretakers of the new museum.
The agricultural machine collection developed into a museum since 1979. The number of tools and machines grew significantly. Today, over 2600 objects are shown on 2685 m2 at the exhibition that feels like an open-air museum with its large machines in considerable space.
