The apropos of the exhibition accompanying the "World Press Photo" is that according to the decision of the European Parliament and the European Council, 2010 is the year of fighting against poverty and social exclusion. Ever since 1983, the EU regularly announces topics that are to be focused throughout that particular year, hoping that unified approach and conscious communication will attract the attention of the public in the given issue.

However, the announcement itself will not solve the problems of poverty and social exclusion. However, it may help in forwarding discussions on the position of those who live in poverty, and also provide example of exemplary initiations.

Our exhibition came into existence with the cooperation of the Hungarian Representatives of the European Council.
