The Stone Collection mostly present the stones found in Szentendre. Among the objects of the Stone Collection, memories of burying and religion as well as stones erected on occasion of the visit of the Emperor and milestones can be found.

According to traditions, the house was built 200 years ago. Its walls were made with clay and straw mortal, its ridge-roof is covered with reed, its facade had three shafts. The positions of the room and the kitchen are in accordance with traditional order. It is furnished with objects fashionable at the beginning of the 20th century. The objects represent families involved in viniculture.

There is no similar museum in the whole world. It does not display a book historical exhibition or a single antique library hall, but the everyday athmosphere around the librarians and readers between the years 1802 and 1985. It displays items of several Hungarian libraries.

The thached house itself was built on a hill, so possible floods of the Danube could not damage it. It was made of mud bricks, so it preserved heat for long in winter, and kept cool in summer time. A cross on the top was broadcasting that the inhabitants therein were religious. Such farmer houses had usually about 3 to 4 rooms. The so called "clean" room was only used on special occasions, or when visitors were coming from afar.

Thanks to her growing sense of nationhood and her developing middle class, during the course of the nineteenth century Hungary saw the creation of several museums. First among these new institutions was the National Museum. A museum dedicated solely to the history of Budapest came into existence only toward the end of the last century. Its core collection consisted of finds from the building sites, from archaeological excavations, and earlier collections which help shed light on of Budapest's history.

The exhibition of history of Oroszlány's coal mining opened on the court and in the buildings of the former XVI. mine-shaft in Oroszlány, in connection with the 40th anniversary of starting mining, in 1979. Organizational and structural works were done by the Oroszlány Coal Mines Company. Mining Museum of Oroszlány as an institution functioned with the support and as part of the company mentioned above until 1994.
