Our collection represents several thousands of butterflies (several hundreds of species) in their regional divisions. The fauna of the Carpathian Basin and Hungary is represented in a way endeavoring for completion. The collection is the 40-year old work of György Juhász (besides the local tours he also took a number of exotic expedition journeys).
Apart from the butterflies other species - scorpions, spiders, locusts and beetles - are also exhibited. Our collection of sea snails, seashells and corals represent the unique fauna of the decaying coral reef. The colorful world of minerals, bones, footprints and animal teeth recall the prehistorian times. Ethnographic items, wooden and bamboo root carvings, masks, stone tools and pots turn our attention to cultures covered under the dust of history..
Visitors will enjoy their time through occasional photography exhibitions, film projecting, lectures and guidance provided.
