The Museum of Hungarian Naive Artists opened in 1976 in Kecskemét.
The museum presents the works of contemporary naive sculptors and painters. The aim is to introduce naive artists for the audience and make them popular. The institution is situated in the middle of the town of Kecskemét.
The museum that collects its material from all over Hungary is hosted by a house built in the 18th century. The west wing of the national monument was built earlier. It has already been the location of several temporary exhibitions. The rest of the building holds the permanent exhibitions.
The permanent exhibition titled 'The Source of Modern Art' grouped the material according to the most typical themes of naive artists giving a review of Hungarian naive art today.
The temporary exhibitions held twice a year present the works of either one or two naive artists.
