Medieval Village
Address: 6060, Tiszaalpár Szent István u. 1.
Phone number: (76) 482-611, (76) 501-596
Opening hours: 01.05.31.10.: Tue-Sun 10-17
The main idea was to present the village that was excavated. The objects mirror the every day life of the villages in the Árpád era. Every house, furnace etc. are in their original size made following the structure and proportions of the findings. The material employed was those that were used in the era of Árpád.

The village was built up in two units: in one the buildings of the everyday life, in the other the buildings of animal husbandry are shown. The typical house of the villages of the era of Árpád were the so-called 'pitfall' houses that were half dug houses covered with cane or soil. The interior of the 'pitfall' houses is presented by the contemporary furniture and dishes. The so-called exterior furnaces were placed around the houses but some of them were further away. The hurdle where the animals were kept, the pitfall for the granary, and a well bushed with braided sticks are also shown.
