Varsány, where the village museum is found, is situated in Nógrád county, about six kms away from Szécsény. The village is well known for its architectural relics, popular traditions and a white willow tree standing in Táb lowland.
The Village Museum was established in one of the peasant houses reprersenting the old architectural style. The house - under 24 Dózsa György Rd - was built in 1895. Its owner presented it to the local council of the village. Presently renovation works are carried out by the village council.
Utility tools, equipments and pieces of furniture are seen in the village museum. We are still trying to collect the old relics of the region, so that we can even more faithfully demonstrate the life-style of those living here long years ago.
