This museum, founded by the wife of Count Ferenc Széchényi with her collection of minerals, it is now home to 10 million items: rocks, minerals, fossils and animal, plant and human remains.
Upon entering the foyer, visitors are greeted by a two-ton skeleton of a whale suspended in the cupola. In the Africa exhibition, see papyrus swamps and their famous inhabitants, from storks to Nile crocodiles and king pythons.
Underneath the glass floor of the museum, see the world of life among the coral reefs. 200 types of coral, 160 fish and more than 1,000 snails, shellfish, starfish, prawns and sea urchins bring you into the diverse living world of the Indo-Pacific region.
