Endre Bajcsy-Zsilinszky's house in Pálköve was opened as a memorial museum on the 80th anniversary of his birth on 10 July 1966. The quiet lakeside area was rented by the famous politician in the middle of the twenties. The Pálköve summer residence, completed in 1937, was patterned after a Balatonszemes peasant house. Because of the role he played in the antifascist movement, the fascist arrow-cross terror did away with him. After putting up armed resistance, he was executed on 24 December 1944.
