The County Museum established in 1955 is located in an old Minorite friary built in the first part of the 18th century in Baroque style.
Its significant archaeology, history, ethnography, fine- and applied art collections, as well as its library, archives and photo gallery welcome the visitors.
Beside the permanent exhibition presenting the past centuries of Nyírbátor, we also hold curiosities eg one of the nicest Hungarian renaissance artwork, a bench made in 1511, or a Báthory coat of arms stone from 1484, as well as other objects related to the Prince of Transylvania Gábor.
