The Open Air Ethnographic Collection is a unique village museum in the country existing in a living village. Its aim is to preserve the memories of the vernacular architecture using wooden framework and support.
The dwelling houses and farm buildings were moved to the collection from the villages of Inner-Somogy, Zselicség, and settlements along the River Dráva. Five dwelling houses are the reminders of the architecture after 1848. The farmhouses located in the yards suggest the financial situations of the tenants of the houses. The furnishing of the houses is the reminder of the tools of the traditional vernacular culture.
