The Alföld Gallery functions as the branch of the János Tornyai Museum. Since it collects and exhibits the art works in connection with the Great Hungarian Plain and the works created here, it is a regional museum.

The permanent exhibition reviews the art of the Great Hungarian Plain from the middle of the 19th century to 1945. Most of the 133 displayed pieces are plastic works. Among the paintings the works of the valued artists by the Hungarian art historians: János Tornyai, József Koszta, István Nagy, Béla Endre, Adolf Fényes, László Mednyánszky, Imre Révész, Sándor Bihari, Gyula Rudnay, Vilmos Aba Novák are shown. The plastic art is represented by the works of János Pásztor, Miklós Izsó, Zoltán Borbereki Kovács és Ferenc Medgyessy.

45 paintings of Menyhért Tóth and 52 statues of István Szabó are part of the longer term temporary exhibition. The Gallery also shows 92 pieces of the collection of 718 pieces of Tornyai paintings that were found in 1984.
