The walls of the sanctuary of the Neoclassical church consecrated in honour of the Virgin Mary and Saint Imre were constructed by Ferenc Bucher. The ceiling frescoes were painted by Antal Szirmai and the altarpiece was made by Rudolf Steiner. The church was built next to the Piarist Secondary School and Monastery, which was an educational and intellectual centre of the Piarist Order, which settled down in Veszprém in 1711. Today it is the Garrison Church of the Hungarian Army. The Blessed Gizella Archdiocese Collection organizes exhibitions on ecclesiastical history and religious art in its exhibition hall.
