The Vésztő-Mágor Memorial Place is one of great touristic interest. In the National Park bordered by the ex-bed of the river Sebes-Kőrös, there are two unique, 9 to 10 metres high, extended hills. A cut made into one of the earth piles presents the traces and relics of settlements of about 6000 years, lying on the top of each other.

Archaeologists managed to excavate the remains of a monastery that belonged to the powerful family of the Csolts in the 10-12 centuries. The monastery was made with demanding stone works. It was divided into a three-nave cathedral, monk cells and an inner court. The relics of the monastery was exhibited in the Wenckheim wine-vault. The permanent exhibition - which presents the history of the hill up to the time of the Ottoman occupation, opened on 25th August 1982. The Mágor hill has been protected as a national park ever since.

There are also a good number of statues decorating Vésztő Mágor. The statue of St. László was erected in 1996. In the statue park of popular writers there are statues of writers, poets and scientists working for the uplifting of the Hungarian Plains. Every year there is a one-day series of programmes called Sárréti Piknik.

Vésztő-Mágor is the "touristic flagship" of Sárrét, and as such worthy of the European fame.
