Opening hours: Tue-Sat 10-17, Sat-Sun 10-16
From 2020, the Tessedik Museum awaits those interested with a modern exhibition theme and a completly new interior. Three different, interesting topics will be presented: unique archaeological finds, the exhibition of Sámuel Tessedik’s oeuvre, Imre Domán’s ethnographic theme collection and the original ‘TV maci’, ‘Mirr-Murr, a kandúr’ and other relics will also be on display at the game exhibition dreamt by László Szabó puppet maker. The special new archaeological wing will feature outstandingly important, unique and scientific intems found in the Carpathian Basin, such as the nearly 8,000-year-old clay statue with triangular head (idol) or Steatopyg statue (idol) as well as the more than 1’000-year-old needle holder with runic script on which the meaning of the writing is still undiscovered. The exhibition breaks with classical museum themes, uses a modern approach to both equipment and content, and defines supply as ‘a mall’. Children and adults can use a separate audio guide system and even a modern gift shop awaits the guests after the museum tour.

Ruzicskay Art House The works of Munkacsy-Prize winner artist, Gyorgy Ruzicskay (1896-1993), are on display at his former residence in the heart of Erzsebet Park. A collection of his artwork, as well as his family’s heirlooms have been waiting for the visitors in this quaint little house in a completely renewed form since 2020, thanks to the Augustin Kubinyi program. In addition, the works of György Ruzicskay and the artwork created in the art camps held in the summer are also presented in the frameworks of temporary exhibitions.

The only functioning dry mill of the country was built by the Bolza family in 1836. As its name suggests, instead of water-power, it works with yoke-power. The building consist of the mill house and a huge circulative tent, where the mill-wheel was dragged by two or three horses. The roof of the building is covered with shingles. Up to the beginning of the 1900s cereal and crop was ground in the mill. Between 1912 and 1962 the mill ground millet, shaved corn and barley. The mill was renovated in 1972 and 1973, and later in 2010 it was made operable again. A guided tour awaits visitors during the opening hours. Visitors are welcomed to participate the exhibitions held at appointed dates during the summer season.
