Victor Vasarely (1908-1997) left Hungary for France in 1930. In the 60's he gave quite a number of his works to his birthplace. In the exhibition one can take delight in pieces of op art, decorative textiles, variations of the renowned' Zebra, and geometrical, structural genres. The giant sized wool carpets (Line-Light 1971, Dia-Argent 1969) and paintings are outstanding examples of kinetic depiction.
Besides Vasarely's pieces the exhibition also hosts a few significant Hungarian artists whose work of geometric and kinetic styles are from the second part of the 20th century (Beothy, Kepes) along with foreign artists of similar genre (Morellet, Hans Arp, Decker, Schöffer).
