The bases of the present collection was amassed in the 1950's by intellectuals and artists of Gyergyó who were entirely in favour of establishing an exhibition. Among the founders were Andor Csiby, Ákos Bálint, János Karácsony and Géza Vámszer, Dénes Kovács from Kolozsvár and Marosvásárhely. continue

Gyergyó Dressed Up In Sunday Dress - Folk Cloths Exhibition
A taste of the exhibition
The exhibition presents traditional folk clothing of Gyergyó from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Beside 21 complete folk cloths, the visitors can see a number of tools of traditional textile production, hemp, wool and flax procession, as well as methods of cleaning. continue
