The protected environment Pusztaszer Landscape Protection Area belonging to the National Park of Kiskunság has the richest sodic bleak. The Lake Fehér around Szeged, the oldest protected environment of Hungary, was first mentioned in a charter in 1075. The River Tisza regularly flooded the region even at the beginning of the 19th century.
