The idea of opening a Local History Collection came in 1995 documented by Mr. József Kapás.
Collecting of machines used by the ancestors of the village dwellers began around the village. The building to host the collection was provided by the self-government that also undertook the maintenance of the collection.
The collection introduce the past of the village Sülysáp, the traditions present in the village, tools, folk cloths, lifestyle, as well as works mirroring its culture.
At present, the institution owns 673 objects. We wish to express our gratitude to all who helped in the establishment of the collection, for Uncle József Kapás the tireless work he spent with restoring objects.
