Bäck Manci was a significant person of photography in Szeged between the two world wars. It is an interesting phenomenon in itself to see a woman at the beginning of the 20th century raising so high. Besides her works, Bäck Manci's life is also very interesting. Born as a Jew, she survived the bloody period. Later at the beginning of communism she left photography behind since she did not want to be a photographer of a cooperation. She never again touched a camera. She spent the last decade of her life in bed and died at age 98 in 1989.
