Bäck Manci was a significant person of photography in Szeged between the two world wars. It is an interesting phenomenon in itself to see a woman at the beginning of the 20th century raising so high.

Besides her works, Bäck Manci's life is also very interesting. Born as a Jew, she survived the bloody period. Later at the beginning of communism she left photography behind since she did not want to be a photographer of a cooperation. She never again touched a camera. She spent the last decade of her life in bed and died at age 98 in 1989.
The museum turned to the public at the beginning of this year to lend pictures made by Bäck Manci for the period of the exhibition. The visitors may see a collection of these and documents on her life as well.
