The Kossuth Printing Company and the National Széchenyi Library decided on co publishing the representative volume The History of Hungarian Wearings that was first issued in 1900.

On occasion of the publication, a chamber exhibition opened in the library, with two units: The one with the titleThe History of Hungarian Wearings is closely related to the book by Mihály Nemes and Géza Nagy from 1900 which is an educational mixture of scientific knowledge of the time and romantic ideas. Though modern science debate, even confute the conclusions the authors drew in the first publication, the book is still an original one, with beautiful pictures and entertaining explanations.

On occasion of the publication of the replica, we show works at the exhibition that served either as source or sample for the authors. Examples of these are wearings' history from Transylvania, various Chronicles or galleries of the old aristocracy.

The exhibition is open on the 5th floor in Ereklyetér from 6-22 November 2012.

The second part of the exhibition, as it were, a prelude to historical, we show theRegions and Wearings in XVIII-XIX. Hungary. Contemporaneous books, periodicals, etchings provide insight into what interested people those days, and also into how artists from other countries view Hungary in the centuries so important from the point of self-reflection.

This segment os the exhibition is located on the 7th floor at Katalógustér from 6 November 2012 to 12 January 2013.
