Brick has been used as a building material ever since ancient times. However, bricks were made by artisans who left their imprints in various forms on the bricks. So, trace of the maker can be discovered in most bricks.

Our exhibition presents a few bricks with foot and hand imprints from the Saint Stephen Museum Collection. A speciality of the exhibition is that it seems to be one of a kind as bricks are not really in the focus of science right now. The visitors will find out why it is interesting to trace imprints. Photos, drawings reveal details of the bricks.

The drawings are by the museum artist Monika Demény, the photos are by the still photographer Ferenc Gelencsér.
