In Western-Europe, following the Stone Age, copper was used to make typical objects like the so-called bell beaker. Bell beaker culture finds were unearthed from Morocco, to Sicily, United Kingdom, Poland, in Hungary in Csepel Island. The ceramic vessels used in bell beaker culture were widespread along banks of rivers and coasts.
The Beaker Folk was named for a very particular type of ceramic vessel, shaped like an upside-down bell geometrically ornamented with stripes. The vessels were sometimes painted. Production and consumption of beer was named the cause of the spreading of the vessel by British scientists. This suggestion seems to be supported by new scientific studies conducted in Spain.
In Budakalász- along road M0 a burial rite of the Bell Beaker with 1070 vessels is the largest on in Europe. Another cemetery excavated in Szigetszentmiklós with 220 burials also show the importance of the finds.
The exhibition explains the history of Stonehenge while also listing examples from Hungary about the significance of the sun for the warriors and their families 3500-3000 BC.
