The picture is of a tennis ball stuck in a cathedral in Dubrovnik. An everyday fan locked in showcase for ever - pictures and objects seemingly banal reminding us of the traumatic experience of the South Slavic War, particularly in Dubrovnik. Provocative performances: global cocktails made of whisky and vodka, surprising videos by the comatose artist who kept on repeating salutations listening to the national anthem or at other times hitting his head in a horn, naked.
I love Zagreb (2008)
Slaven Tolj's disturbing, strongly critical works study the recent past through his own experiences. The Croatian fine artist's exhibition at the Ernst Museum introduces an artist who still believes that art is able to evoke social changes and solidarity.

The exhibition was supported by the Emil Filla Gallery, Ústí nad Labem and the Art Workshop Lazareti, Dubrovnik.
