The Painted Easter Egg Museum is the first exhibition of the kind in Hungary.
A taste of the exhibition
Dr. Rózsa Nienhaus private collector gave over about 3000 pieces of her private collection for exhibition purposes. About the nearly 2100 works displayed in the glass-cases the visitors can see detailed information written in 6 languages. The further 900 eggs can be looked at in the drawer cases.

The displayed eggs originate from 19 countries and 55 regions. They were made by 160 known and more unknown egg ornamenters, by more than 30 kinds of techniques (horse tail covered, wired, strow covered, painted, scretched, batiqued, etc.) A number of applied art works are also displayed in the museum. These are compositions made of wood, mineral, stone or glass, formulate dinto egg shapes.

Special pieces of the collection are as follows:
- Charlton Carina German egg ornamenter "The notes of the Hungarian Hymn on an ostrich egg.
- Mrs. Horváth's 'Lamb of God' - scretched 30 years ago.
- The work of Lajos Kuris, using the typically Hungarian method, that is, shoeing.

The museum does not only exhibits but also gives an encouragement for the active learning. Sometimes we arrange egg painting exhibitions and competitions.

The museum is especially popular among the students.

Its individual character contributes much to the development of tourism in the village and in the whole region.
