Stations of the Millennium Underground - Budapest
Stations of the Millennium Underground
Address: 1051, Budapest Vörösmarty tér
In the two most significant collections of the Kiscell Museum of the History Museum of Budapest (Photography and Architecture collections) there are many important relics representing the history of the architecture in Budapest. Through our exhibition entitled "The stations of the building works in Budapest" we set out to represent the formation of the various roads and buildings, and the main events of the life of their architects.

We chose such buildings and roads which are close to the stations of the Millenium Undergrand. This way people can easily access the buildings seen in the photographs.

Nearly 500 photographs and and architectural sketches - representing the period of Budapest becoming a metropolis - are displayed in both sides of the 11 undergrand stations.

At present there is no such permanent exhibition in Budapest which would represent the documentations and sketches of the architecture of Buda and Pest. Through our exhibition we endevour to temporally make up for this loss - although only by using photocopies instead of the original documents.
