The museum owns a significant ethnographic and applied arts collection. Its photography collection contains 28 thousands photographs. The ceiling frescoes and Biblical scenes painted by Hans Rudolf Miller, and the painting entitled Knight games (1494) are regarded as items of utmost interest. A wardrobe and a silver plate are dated right back to the 17th century.
The exhibition representing the history of the guardians is the only one of the kind in the country.
