The founder of the museum, the captain Vince Farkas, put together the material of the exhibition himself. The showing opened in his own house on 12 July 1984 in Zebegény. The history of sailing, how the first rafts and boats were made, the "clipperig" used for shipping tea in the 19th century, as well as tools used in boat construction are on display.
Scale models of sailboats, men of war from the 20th century, deck airplanes and paper boats made with scrupulous work are also to be seen. Several of the Gallion figures recall the romantic era of wailing.
The visitors can also take a look inside various peoples culture via Totem poles, masques, magic wands, weapons and various tools.
Original appliances used in shipping etc tools of navigation, instruments, maps, documents, rescue equipment remember the history of sailing. The private collection is continuously added new objects.
