Tényő settlement is situated in the South-East edge of the Kisalföld, 20 kms from Győr, in a valley among the hills of Sokoró. This settlement owns one of the most beautiful natural features of the region. The hills embrace the village all over around. Looking down from them we will have a marvellous view on the landscape.

The gigantic pine, oak and acacia forests are wonderful for hunting or outgoing. Because of their special fauna and flora the region is also ideal for eco-tourism.

The settlement is easily accessible from any parts of the country through the motorway. The area offers a great variety of endowments for tourism and life-style excursions.

The open-air popular museum and the renovated peasant houses enhance the touristic value of the region.

The region house was established by the village council in 1975. The house is found at 16 Kétsor Road, Tényő. The house was built in the 17th century in the style typical to the area: three divisions, free chimney, scissor legged roof structure, thetched roof, etc.

The crossbeam of the building is dated 1789. Its interiour recalls the second half of the 19th century cotter life. The large earthenware oven was rebuilt in the traditional way. All agricultural buildings and tools of the cotter property can be found in the site.
