Phone number: (99) 510-651
Opening hours: 15.04-20.10.
The story of the Lutheran congregation with its past of centuries is dated from the time of the Reformation in Hungary.

The Lutheran Churh in Sopron is the oldest, most out standing work of the period after the edict of tolerance. There are many concerts held on the big organ of the Church, which has a wonderful tone.

The devotion to arts and sciences was always the main purpose of the churchmen of the congregation. The collection of Hungarian and foreign ecclesiastical objects can be seen in the small Treasure Gallery of the church, such as the masterworks of Lord's Supper Globlets, pitchers, ciborium, candlesticks, altar covers. The congregation's life can be seen on paintings, handwritten documents, books, and prints. The Portrait Room shows the activity of the presented personalities until the 20th century.

The one-time vicarage is located near the Church. The two-storied Baroque palace is the seat of the National Lutheran Museum's Sopron Collection. The Room of Archives holds documents from the middle of the 16th century. The Library with the collection of more than 6000 books, handwritten Holy Bibles and books on theology is at the researchers' disposal.
Permanent exhibitions
A taste of the exhibition
The treasures of the Evangelic Church of Sopron are from the period following the fire of 1676. They are partly made by Hungarians, partly foreigners. The followers gave donations to fulfill the loss. These treasures are shown in the permanent exhibition titled 'One Hundred Years of the Evangelic Congregation of Sopron' which opened in 1986. continue
