The three-storey tower was built in the 13th century on the top of one of the hills beside the crossing of Sárrét. The tower was destroyed by the Turks in 1543, but it was rebuilt against the attacks for Székesfehérvár. During the Ottoman occupation a small flowrishing settlement was formed around the tower.

After the driving out of the Turks, the small castle lost its signifcance, and its condition was fast deteriorating. The exhibition presenting materials of the Ottoman occupation was opened in 1981.
Permanent exhibitions
The exhibition represents the uplifting, restoring, cleaning and preserving of of the wall paintings found on the excavation made in Szabadbattyán. continue
