The open-air popular museum was founded in 1980. The work was supervised by the Hungarian Agricultural Museum. The value of the museum can be found not only in the items exhibited here, but also in the unity that characterized the collecting work. Objects and donations were given absolutely free of charge, though in many cases they proved rather valueable.

The permanent exhibition is arranged in three buildings (big house, small house, coach-house) of 314 square metres altogether. The exhibitions was not formes according to the original functions of the buildings. Most of the space is used only for the purpose of exhibiting a wide scale of arts and craftsmanship works. The reconstruction of the old peasant life was not among our aims.

Items are displayed from the fields of pottery, carpentry, embroydery and other popular arts.
