The museum was founded in honor of the artist who represented Hungarian peasantry most authentically in 1897 in the house where the writer was born.

Szabó Pál (1893-1970) was born in Biharugra in a poor peasant family. He spent his childhood there. The topic of his most important novels inspired by his own life show the strenuous life of the people of Biharugra.

The exhibition shows the study and library of the writer.
