Tibor Nagy and Tiborné Nagy, the private owners of the Village Museum of Csokm6 opened the museum in 19. August 2005. They have provided various programmes since the opening ceremony.

The past of the building:
It was a wealthier husband's house, it was built around 1870, the ground-plan is simple: one kitchen and two rooms. Originally, it had thatched roof, and there were furnaces in both rooms (a round-shape one and a sqare-shape one), today only the mouth of the furnace, the built-in cooking-stove remained and we can see one restored furnace. Huge yard and outbuildings (hutch, stable, corn cistern etc.) belonged to the house. There was a well in the centre of the yard, it was covered-in in the 70's.

The first known owner was István Kádár, he bought the house in the end of the XIX, century. He was a well-to-do husbandman, in the beginning of the XX. century he husbanded in an eight hectare estate and he kept animals besides. In 1999 his great-granddaughter, Irén Kádár Tiborné Nagy inherited the house. In the Autumn of 2004 her family decided to establish a village museum in the old house.

The owners spend their own resources to operate the museum, because it is their private property. Besides, they get many help from the local government, the Museum of Sárrét, but the most useful is the local people's help. They managed to keep the interest through the years. There are colorful, interesting programmes in every month: playhouse, exhibitions and several programmes provide entertainment for every age.
Permanent exhibitions
The furnitures of the upper room are mostly originals, the wardrobes stand on the same place where the last owner left them. There is a bed here with decorated pillows, a more than hundred years old cradle and countrymen's clothes. continue
