Kisnyárád is a picturesque village located in the hills. The first mention of the village was in documents dating 1285. Despite the deportations after WWII, the population is German speaking who have preserved their identity and tradition over generations.

The visitors to the village are welcomed by a Baroque church built in 1777. The patron Saint of the church is Elisabeth of Hungary. The Calvary Hill is also a sight to visit in the village, as well as the Chapel that is located by the legendary Wonder Spring. Pilgrims usually come to visit the spring during Saint's Day.

The past is recalled in the Village Museum that was first opened in 1993. The material was selected by locals and was first displayed in one of the school rooms they themselves renovated.

In one of the rooms at the Village Museum agricultural tools are on display, but there are harnesses to see and tools used in textile procession.

The second room is furnished with objects and furniture that were once common in the so-called 'clean room'. The furniture in the kitchen is also from the 1830s.

The village offers a number of programs for the visitors, e.g. the Swabian Ball, Children's Day, Harvest Merriment and also Village Day.
