'At First Sight' is the first program of a new exhibition series at the King St. Stephen Museum of Székesfehérvár. The intention of the organizers was to discover talents and show their artworks at yearly organized collective exhibitions in Székesfehérvár.
'At First Glance' is a programme where applied- and fine artists of the future can meet the audience for the first time. Thus, the town in enriched by a program invoking considerable attention among the professionals, the audience in large and the media.
In 2008, students of the Communication Department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts showed their works. Animation, photo, graphics and video are taught at the Department of Visual Communication.
Why is it interesting to learn about new talents of the future? People today are exposed to an uncountable amount of visual affects and stimuli. We read book, newspapers etc. When we walk along the street, we see posters, photos and signs. TV is full of advertisings but we also see number moving pictures on the Internet, too.
The quality of the visual world does matter. And it is created by this generation. The exhibition entitled 'At First Glance' helps in orientation and how to understand the future created by artists by artistic means.
The material shown at the St. Stephen Museum was selected from artworks made at the studio of the Visual Communication department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts. Nearly forty works of art by artists in their first to third year are shown in the project realized in the framework of Visual Studies Studio.
