There were just as good things in the old world as in the new world. It is also true the other way around.
A taste of the exhibition
My father put it in a very nice way last Christmas. Studying a milk box he said:

- My son, is it natural that the warrant of milk is longer now than the warrant for the corrosion of our old Dacia used to be?

In 2006, I wrote a book under the pseudonym Ferenc Dalnoki. I chose to do it this way as I was afraid of failure in front of my friends. The book entitled 'Sand Garden Capriccio' tells about my childhood in a ‘retro’ way, just like the 'Indul a Bakterház'

The success of the book surprised me as I am really a diesel engine mechanic. I never wrote a line except on postcards from the Balaton. A film director, who I admire, also read my book and he really liked it. He tried to get me write more so we could make a comedy of it. I hope it becomes a success too as in this world of ours the best therapy is laughing.

I had a little argument about the size of letters with the lector. I wanted bigger letters but they convinced me. Big letters are not good because they are fairy-tale like. It is all right, I thought. I would take a few photos of my childhood toys to be included in the book. I went up to the attic but I found nothing. My mother contritely admitted that she had given them all to the neighbours in 1991.

So I went to the flee market. Me and my wife kept on reading the advertisements in the papers, even the auctions on the Internet. There was a case when I accosted an old eighty-year-old man in the street who was pushing his bike and his old TV was fastened on it as he was taking it to the dump. We asked him to give the TV to us. He did so.
- Now I don’t have to ride up to the dump with my leg hurting-he said.

The book was finished but we could not stop. When the attic and the basement were full, we decided to organize an exhibition to show everything we had collected. The Ferenc Széchenyi County Museum welcomed our initiation.

The motto of the display is 'Those good old days...' Retro exhibition of the Life Atmosphere Collection of Ferenc Dalnoky.

There will be everything here. Old toys, household tools, medallions, flags, old bear bottles, labels, cigarette boxes, posters, roller skates, old pedal Moszkvics car. I cannot even list them all. An interesting feature of the exhibition is that some of the toys or books can be bought on location.
