He graduated from the Collage of Applied Arts in 1962. His teachers were Miháltz Pál and Z. Gács György. He met Borsos Miklós and Rákóci Zoltán who he recalls as authentic and professional people. After graduating, he began to work in Kaposvár. Around that time, several young artists moved to the south Transdanubian region. One of the important figures was Szabados, according to whom the 'never stated but sure intellectuals intentions and strong relations are still valid.'

Szabados János travelled to several eastern and western countries, to several artist colonies in Hungary and Yugoslavia.

'He first showed his artworks characterized by modern forms and public understanding in 1962. In the 70's he applied folk art in his works while in the 80's and 90's his work was determined by human relations. He designs and makes 'muralias'. (Kempelen Farkas Digital Library, edited by Tasnádi András.)

He married Weeber Klára in 1963. They have two children: János (1967) and Anna (1977). Both of them graduated from the University of Applied Arts. He managed the Creative House of Fonyód during 1973.

'...Mosaics won in the seventies and the unusual processes greatly changed my ways. I was looking for new scales. I placed the former closed picture motifs into spaces opening up, thus drawing gained more role by unfolding the suddenness.

This freely unfolding world of colours kept me interested until the middle of the eighties. Then I felt I had to move on since I found I had repeated myself and worked routinely that also bored me.

The main characters of my works done since are figures. The phenomena that I experienced in my environment touched me with warning: being an outsider, introvert, individual inviolability. Of course, my topics did not suggest my own fate since I felt I led a satisfied life. My family provides me with spiritual and emotional security and makes me do more pictures suggesting hope.
