The Museum of Ethnography considers the showing the life style, social status and cultural habits of national and ethnic minorities important to be able to , actively aid rapprochement between different groups, at the same time contributing to the growth of the self-esteem of subject group, and reduction of prejudices against them. The Museum of Ethnography presents three itinerant artisan craft - that of the wire maker, the tub maker and cauldron patching - based on the museum's collections .Nevertheless, we will discuss various occupational groups, including the travelling barber, the traveller wreath maker and some other ones.

The exhibition describes historical developments of the economy and also reflects on how Hungarian society related to these people, the image of them in society, how they were represented by theme. The exhibition explains how these crafts contributed to the development of the formulation of ethnic self-image and national culture. The presentation of the wire maker craft was done in cooperation with the Považské Museum, located in Zilina, Slovakia. We also work together with various other domestic public collections from which we borrowed some, material, primarily fine art.
